The first area to check on your International backhoe is the drive shaft on your equipment pump. You should check or inspect, and grease this drive-shaft as necessary.

If your International backhoe is equipped with a trans-axle breather, it should be periodically inspected and cleaned as necessary.

Now for the engine: you should drain, flash, and refill all the engine cooling systems on your International backhoe — backhoe engines work exceedingly hard, and so it’s very important that the engines cooling abilities be kept at peak efficiency.

Now you should look at the tires on your backhoe: you should inspect your tires to make sure that they still have an adequate amount of tread. Without suitable thread, your International backhoe will not be able to get proper tire traction when you are using it.

You should carefully examine all of the hinges and mountings for any attachments on your International backhoe as well — loose bolts, broken, bent, or misaligned pieces of metal on your backhoe should be repaired or replaced.

You should also inspect the lifting buckets on your backhoe — you should examine them for signs of corrosion or rust, and get them repaired or replaced as necessary if you’re trying to haul with a rusted-a bucket, heavy objects could actually fall right through the bucket, and cause serious problems during the operation of your International backhoe.
